About this project:
Sunderstanding
campaign:
We have initiated a campaign to take sun study to every school, developing
unique and effective LCNC methods to image the sun, observe and study
sunspots etc.
In
the year 2000,
we organised national
and city Sun Trek workshops for this campaign in collaboration with Nehru
Science Centre and other institutions.
On the occassion of 'transit of Venus' we
learn how to construct a low cost / high magnification solar observatory
to observe the transit of Venus. Then during the transit of Venus, we
measure the distance of the Sun from Earth.
